Do I need to register all the parents from my school and assign them login credentials for them to access the portal?
No you do not. Sematime automatically picks the parent details from the information you have saved in your student records. You do not need to create login credentials as Sematime generates one-time password for each parent that are sent via SMS. Please note that only parents whose phone numbers have been saved in your account can access the parents portal.
How much do you charge for this service?
Zero. This is a free service from Sematime. However, for it to work well the school must use any of other services: Academics, Messaging & Finances. Parents only incur the mobile service provider costs for data bundles or airtime in case of USSD.
What information can parents access on the portal?
Parents only access information that is relevant to their children. If they have multiple kids in the same school, then they need to choose the student to work with. Here is all the information parents can access:
- Messages sent by the school to their phone number.
- Fee balances, account statements, invoices and receipts for payments they have made.
- Exam results, report cards, result slips, discipline cases and other academic data for their children.
